join our transformative team. JOB TITLE: RESEARCH ASSISTANT I
POSITION SUMMARY: The candidate will join an early-stage discovery
research group at Calibr-Skaggs. Under guidance and in
collaboration with others, the candidate will perform research for
projects in drug discovery and protein engineering. The primary
area of research will be the development of protein therapeutics
for the treatment of cancer and metabolic diseases. A successful
candidate will be self-led and able to work both independently and
collaboratively on research projects, analyze data and interpret
results. The right candidate will be adaptable with a willingness
to assist others and enthusiastically learn new skills/techniques.
The candidate will have the opportunity to assist in designing
experiments and will be expected to provide guidance/training to
other department personnel on an as needed basis, as well as
perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as
required or assigned. RESPONSIBILITIES: Work under supervision to
design, execute, analyze, interpret and troubleshoot scientific
experiments in biochemistry and molecular biology. Accurately
maintain written reports and present results in an organized and
timely manner to research team. Communicate effectively with peers
and supervisors, foster teamwork and contribute to collaborative
efforts. Strong commitment to quality in research and presentation.
Details of essential functions for this position will be
addressed/discussed during the interview process. DESIRED
QUALIFICATIONS: Skills in molecular biology, including vector
design and plasmid purification, are required. Experience in
mammalian cell culture and sterile technique is required.
Additional experience in protein expression platforms (i.e. HEK,
CHO, or E. coli) and purification techniques, HPLC and/or LC-MS is
advantageous, but not required. Experience preparing and presenting
scientific data using data analysis and visualization software such
as Prism and Excel is important. Outstanding organizational and
note-keeping skills are important. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree
in biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology or related area.
Recent graduates or candidates with 1-3 years of laboratory
experience are encouraged to apply. Highly motivated, creative, and

communicate effectively with colleagues. Ability to contribute in a
meaningful way to scientific discourse. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This
position works in a laboratory or vivarium environment. Details of

addressed/discussed during the interview process. COMPENSATION: The
expected hiring range for this position is $20.67 to $23.08 per
hour, commensurate with experience. Consideration will be given to
experience that exceeds the listed requirements. COMPREHENSIVE
