Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Planning, you will
be at the helm of Seneca's data revolution. As the Director, Centre
for Institutional Data and Enterprise Analytics, you will spearhead
the development and implementation of our data strategy, advancing
data analytics practices aligned with Seneca's strategic goals.
In this role, you will transform business data into actionable
insights, identify key issues, analyze trends, and project outcomes
to support informed decision-making. Your goal: to turn data into
knowledge and knowledge into impactful action, fostering a culture

This role involves developing, implementing, and overseeing
comprehensive institutional planning strategies that align with
Seneca's Strategic Plan, ensuring equity, diversity, and inclusion
in decision-making and initiatives.
Here's What's On Your Horizon
Strategic Planning
- Lead and implement institutional data analytics and governance
strategies, collaborating with stakeholders to align with
institutional goals.
- Monitor and evaluate Seneca's performance, recommending
improvements.
- Develop and maintain a data governance plan aligned with
Seneca's objectives, assessing risks and prioritizing recovery
activities.
- Implement a scalable data architecture, including data
pipelines and warehouses.
- Create and maintain data models describing critical business
aspects, ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Oversee data integrations between systems, ensuring reliable
data flow.
- Lead the development and enforcement of data governance
policies to ensure data quality, security, and compliance.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure data quality at the
source.
Analysis and Planning
- Lead data analytics projects from conception to evaluation,
including risk and financial analysis.
- Support and advise on sequencing and executing data
projects.
- Identify cross-institutional synergies and opportunities for
coordination.
- Guide the development of data pipelines and a data warehouse
for reporting and AI/ML modeling.
- Define KPIs and develop visualization reports for
decision-making.
- Enhance user-friendliness in data presentation and
dissemination.
- Integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring integrity and
addressing errors.
- Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze
data and develop predictive models.
Financial Planning
- Manage financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes
to support strategic goals.
- Maintain consolidated financial reports for leadership
review.
- Oversee resource allocation to meet institutional objectives,
working with departments.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work with leadership on market analysis, strategy, and policy
development.
- Foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders
for strategic input.
- Represent the institution on committees and external
organizations, sharing findings with relevant areas.
Leadership and Team Management
- Set planning objectives, delegate tasks, and provide leadership
input.
- Guide research, project design, data analysis, and presentation
activities.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in analytics or data-related roles
across industries.
- Leadership or project management experience in data-driven
fields.
- Expertise in statistical techniques, data mining, and
predictive modeling.
- Proficiency with SQL, Python, Hadoop, NoSQL, Tableau, Power
BI.
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft data model.
- Experience with machine learning, forecasting, NLP.
- Ability to interpret data in a postsecondary context, work with
ambiguity, and develop creative solutions.
- Enthusiasm for solving complex analytical problems and
developing skills.
- Graduate degree in Statistics, Applied Math, Computer Science,
or related field.
