This opportunity is open to all interested candidates. The
Secondary Teacher Pool (Single Subject) is for assignments for the
2026-2027 school year. If you are currently in the 2025-2026
Secondary Teacher Pool ( Single Subject) eligiblity pool , you must
submit a completed application to be considered for a position in
the 2026-2027 school year. OVERVIEW: San Diego Unified School
District, the second largest district in California and one of the

SPECIFICS: The Secondary Teacher Pool is for assignments for the
2026-2027 school year. The San Diego Unified School District
accepts applications for Single Subject Teachers on a continuous
basis for regular full-time and part-time assignments. The
Secondary Teacher Pool is for individuals who hold a Single Subject
Teaching Credential and wish to teach a Single Subject content at
the secondary level. This is a continuous recruitment which will be
used to establish an ongoing eligibility list. Candidates that do
not wish to be considered for regular full-time/part-time positions
should apply to the substitute teacher pool to be considered for
temporary assignments. Credential areas considered for this pool
are: Agriculture Art Biological Sciences Business Chemistry Dance
English Foundational-Level General Science Foundational-Level
Mathematics Geosciences Health Science Home Economics Industrial
and Technology Education Mathematics Music Physical Education
Physics Science: Biological Sciences Science: Chemistry Science:
Geosciences Science: Physics Social Science Theater World Language:
English Language Development World Languages-Languages other than
English This pool is for individuals who: Hold a valid teaching
credential, Are enrolled in a college/university to attain a
teaching credential, Are intern eligible through their college or
university, or Are eligible for a Short-Term Staffing Permit (STSP)
(see CCTC STSP Requirements for eligibility requirements). If you
have not applied for a California teaching credential, you must
hold a Certificate of Clearance prior to applying for your
credential. Visit the CCTC website for more information. MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS: Credential Requirements Hold a valid teaching
credential. Are enrolled in a college/university to attain a
teaching credential. Are intern eligible through their college or

APPLICATION INFORMATION: Application Process To be eligible for
consideration, interested candidates must submit the following.
Your application will be considered incomplete if you do not
include all required information, including completion of the Work
Experience and Education Sections of the online application,
required attachments, and responses to all application questions.
Online employment application Cover Letter Resume Copy of a valid
teaching credential, proof of enrollment in a credentialing program
(candidates must be scheduled to graduate within 6 months), proof
of intern eligibility, or proof of short-term staffing permit
eligibility. Contact information for three professional references
must be listed under the 'References' section of the application.
References should be from a current or previous supervisor. We will
contact your professional references during the application
screening process of this application. Written reference letters
dated within the last year are also accepted and may be attached to
your online application in the Reference section. Contact
information for all previous places of employment must be listed
under the 'Employment History' section of the application (Assembly
Bill 2534). As of January 1, 2025, in accordance with Education
Code section 44939.5 (as amended by California AB 2534) applicants
for certificated positions are required by law to provide a
complete list of every school district, county office of education,
charter school and/or state special school with which you have
previously been employed, regardless of the length of service.
Required documents must be attached to the online employment
application to be considered. All application questions should be
answered thoroughly, clearly, and concisely as the responses
provided (along with the entire application package) will be
carefully reviewed to determine which candidates will move forward
in the recruitment process. Please complete the online application
to include all current and previous paid work history and
education. Indicate on the application if you have unpaid volunteer
or internship experience. The length of time you worked in each
position or assignment must be clearly shown. A resume may be
attached, but not substituted for completing the work history,
education sections, or the supplemental questions of the employment
application. Providing incomplete responses or answering "See
Resume" or "See Application" may automatically disqualify your
application from further consideration. Examination Process Click

process will consist of an application screening based on the
candidate's education, work history and responses to the
supplemental questions. Professional References will be contacted
for candidates who are selected to proceed in the examination
process. Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications are not
guaranteed advancement through any subsequent phase of the
examination. Candidates selected to proceed in the examination
process will be invited to an interview. Applicants who pass the
examination process will be placed on an eligible list for a period
